Puttari/ Huttari

Puttari (also called Huttari or Puthari) is the traditional rice harvest festival of the Kodava community in the Kodagu (Coorg) district of Karnataka, India. The word means “new rice” (Pudhiya meaning new, Ari meaning rice). It is a time of thanksgiving to nature and ancestors for a bountiful crop
